They're all laughing. The entire room of college boys and girls are laughing at her. She's standing in the center, the butt end of all the jokes. The only odd thing is that she's laughing too.

She's smiling while the boys tell her how horrific she looks in her dark red dress. She's nodding and laughing while the girls tell her how her short hair doesn't suit her.

I can't watch. I turn my face away, close my eyes. It's awful. I knew I had to get her out of there before she broke.
