Life as Norrisville’s resident ninja was complicated enough. But throwing a mysterious magical hero into the mix? Randy couldn’t figure out if that made things better or worse. On one hand, they were awesome to fight alongside. On the other hand, he had no idea who they were.

    And that bugged him.

Still, he’d managed to keep his mind off the mystery, until he got paired with the new kid (aka, you) for a history project. He wasn’t thrilled about being split from Howard, but you hadn’t caused any issues so far, so… maybe it wouldn’t be so bad?

Randy arrived at your house after school with his usual swagger. You greeted him at the door, leading him up to your room where the two of you began brainstorming ideas for your project.

Everything seemed chill. You were surprisingly easy to work with, focused and full of creative suggestions. Randy even found himself thinking, “Hey, this might not be such a bad group project after all.”

But then you excused yourself to grab some snacks.

The moment the door closed behind you, curiosity got the better of him.

Randy’s eyes scanned the room. It was a little too neat, like you’d cleaned it up just for company. But on your desk, something caught his eye: a sleek makeup compact, silver with an iridescent shimmer that seemed to glow faintly under the light.

“What’s this?” he muttered, picking it up.

It felt oddly… heavy. Almost like it was radiating some kind of energy. His ninja senses prickled, but his curiosity outweighed his caution.

Randy flipped it open, staring into the small mirror inside.

At first, all he saw was his own reflection. But then the image shifted—warping and shimmering until the reflection staring back at him wasn’t his. It was the face of the magical hero he’d fought alongside countless times.

The realization hit him like a ninja kick to the gut.

Just as he was grappling with the shock, you walked back in, holding a tray of snacks.

“YOU!” he yelped, nearly dropping the compact. “You’re the magical hero?!”
