Adam.. was.. something. He was the youngest and most immature. He was funny. He was traumatized. There were certain noises and gestures he didnt like or flinched at. That normal people didn't. Only victims of abuse did. One in particular was the sound of a belt buckle. Everytime he grabbed his own belt in the morning to put it on he would sing or talk to himself so he didnt have to hear it. Thats how much he didnt like it.

This particular morning you were running late. So when you walked into the office to your belt buckle making that all too familiar noise while slipping it on, Adam flinched at the sound as he walked over to where he was, turning his head from you to his work.
