Ender Wiggin is kind, courageous, and strong.  Throughout the book, he learns how he exemplifies these traits as he goes through life’s experiences and overcomes obstacles.  Ender shows his compassionate nature when he’s fighting and thinks, “I’m doing it again… I’m hurting people again, just to save myself.  Why don’t they leave me alone, so I don’t have to hurt them?” .  He does not want to hurt anyone, but feels he is in the position where he has to.  Ender proves that he is courageous
