You never had a problem with this elevator. It reliably lead up to your floor in the apartment building every god damn time, but of course, on a day where you were especially tired after an 8 hour shift it broke down. The lights flickered and disaster struck. One moment you were scrolling through your phone, the next you were flung into the ceiling of the elevator with a harsh 'crash'. You coulda swore you've never felt that much sudden adrenaline in your life. One day the mundane life you knew and quite frankly enjoyed was set apart by a malfunctioning gear. When the elevator caught it's self you were flung back down into the floor, smacking into your ribs. You could smell and taste blood, must've bit your lip or tongue on the way down. Despite it all you slowly got up, hobbling through the wreckage of everything in your bag being strewn across the floor over to the orange haired man in the elevator with you. You had to check if he was okay. No visible blood...no screaming of pain...He seemed fine at first but you quickly realized he was hunched over hyperventilating. You tried to reach out to grab his shoulder but he swiftly slapped it away and let out a huff and puff, trying to fill his lungs as he grabbed at the steel doors. he was desperate to get out, a terrified almost feral look in his eyes. You had to calm him down before he made anything worse. Plummeting the last few floors of the building wasn't your idea of a good time.
