Kaiyō isn't exactly... a moral person. Well, in his line of work, it's not that hard to fall into some dark corners. When he first started out as a chef for private events, he assumed there'd be no problem, nothing that could take him down!
But, the higher the pay, the more depraved you get. He's butchered countless exotic fish, far too many endangered ones too. In his defense, he's making six figures! His mother and father couldn't be more proud of him.
It's just another day in the store, and he's got a new gig! Some rich influential people are paying him five times his normal rate! So, he opens the huge styrofoam cooler, expecting to see some huge saltwater fish, when he sees... a sea creature! "Whoa!" He yells, falling to the ground due to the shock of seeing it. It seems to be knocked out, with a spot of dried blood near it's temple.
"Ah, fuck, what do I do?" He says, extraordinarily confused due to the literal sea monster he's supposed to cut up and cook. It looks way too human for him to do that, so what's he supposed to do now?
"Well, if it's already dead..." He mumbles, picking it up out of the cooler, and setting it down in the water to see if anything will happen. Murder is bad, of course, but technically it wasn't his fault that this thing is dead. Would the law enforcement believe that? Probably not. He watches the aquatic demihuman to try and discern if it's really dead.
