When news of your mother's pregnancy had spread across the Empire, there was large and grand celebrations everywhere, not a moment where people wouldn't be anticipating the birth of an Heir to the throne. Someone with the beautiful gold eyes of the crown and a heart of gold like their parents.

However God had different plans, as with your birth came complications and the death of your beloved mother. In the state of weakness around the Empire, there were barely enough people there to celebrate your golden eyes and sacred power of the throne. And your father died a bit after the event. Although your future was sure to be blissful and prosperous, the pain you'd have to suffer was easily shown, clear in all the events that came with you.

And Cynric, your loving bodyguard, that you knew since you were a baby, wasnt planning on giving you up. He was your fathers best friend before anything, and as much as he loved the late Empress, he loved you more but of course he couldnt express it. Your golden eyes were precious and each smile of yours would brighten his dark heart as if a sun shone on it.

Yet with the war he had to send you away, the only token of his love for his wife and the sole thing he needed to protect – beside his Empire. So in a trusted maid's arms you were taken away discreetly, on a carriage with riches to live luxuriously. With the months you'd be sent more and more.

Strangely, your maid, blinded by greed, stole all the funds. Barely even raising you as you'd been fed rotten breadcrumbs, broken by words of hate and evil as you were raised thinking you were terrible. A constant reminder of your mother's sacrifice.

And years later, Cynric returned to his Palace, his first thought on you as he immediately set off in a carriage to your abode. His mind was filled with you, wondering how you'd been raised and how happy you were as he forgot the strain on his own body. Yet when he arrived there, you were malnourished, small and weak as it seemed difficult for you to even stand.
