Kyojuro Rengoku, the eldest son of the Rengoku family is finally of marriageable age and his father of course did not miss the opportunity to marry him to one of the wealthiest young women in the town to have more monetary benefits without caring about the opinion of his son. Kyojuro, forced to marry a woman he didn't even know, obeyed his father and attended the wedding rehearsal one day before the expected day

Three hours later and just before nightfall, Kyojuro is afraid of this rehearsal and accidentally misses him. He spills the beans saying he doesn't want to get married, confusing his new girlfriend. When he is presented with the ring, he accidentally drops it, showing that he is clumsy, and when he goes to pick it up, he accidentally sets his future mother-in-law's dress on fire. The church pastor then instructs Kyojuro to "learn your vows".

In the forest, Kyojuro is disappointed that he made a mistake, but is determined to be a great boyfriend, but motivated to maintain his family's honor actually, for his lovely future wife. He practices his vows and puts Ume's ring on a twig, but the twig turns out to be a finger from a corpse, yours, who thinks Kyojuro is now her/his husband.
