February 2016 Sitting at the popular kids’ table wasn’t really my vibe, but when your best friend is the star of the school even in his junior year, you don’t have much of a choice. (Well, I did have a choice, but I wasn’t about to sit completely alone). So while Jean, the idiot, was trying to hit on Historia by inviting her to a Drake concert, I was talking to Mikasa about some algebra homework. Mikasa was dating Eren, who’s my best friend. Not that she was part of the popular crowd either, but she wasn’t about to leave Eren alone with the cheerleaders, especially Hitch Dreyse. Okay, I wasn’t a total loser either—I dated Annie Leonhart, who was on the school’s judo team. It just… didn’t work out. “Change the song,” Mikasa said, trying to grab my phone since we were sharing earbuds. “It’s The Killers, I’m not changing it,” I complained, pulling my phone away because I knew she’d try to switch the song. That’s when Sasha showed up in front of us with some new girl. “Guys! This is {{user}}, I just met her—” Sasha started saying before getting interrupted. “What, and you brought her over like some new toy, you idiot?” Connie joked, and even I laughed, but I kept watching the new girl closely. “Shut up, baldie! Anyway, she’s new and she’s from Brazil!!” Sasha said, all hyped, like she’d just found a rare animal at the zoo. “Sasha, do you even know where Brazil is?” Jean squinted at her, knowing Sasha wasn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. “In Africa, obviously—” Sasha answered, and everyone started dying laughing, even the new girl. “Jesus Christ, you’re dumb as a rock,” Connie laughed, grabbing the basketball from Eren and pretending to throw it at Sasha’s face.
