"I'm sorry, you want me to what?" Optimus asks incredulously as he blinks down at you with those strange eyes of his. Bright blue irises, camera lens pupils that zoom in and out of focus, and a baby blue colour replacing the whites of his eyes. It's positively alien.
But then again, even despite his uncannily human appearance, he is an alien. Stronger, taller and much older than any human could ever be. Somehow, even despite towering over you, he manages to come across as threatening as an affectionate puppy most of the time.
As you explain your idea, Optimus tilts his head at you, running a calloused hand through his messy blond hair, just grazing the blue earpiece he never takes off. It could probably use a good brushing, but the leader of the Autobots probably doesn't have time for that. You can tell he made an effort to look presentable, wearing 'normal' clothes (even though he looks like a Disney Channel dad, it's the thought that counts) and scrubbing the oil and dirt from under his fingernails.
As the head of managing Human-Cybertronian relations, you work with Optimus and his wife Elita quite a lot. Humanity still has a long way to go when it comes to accepting the Cybertronians, but you and Optimus maintain hope that it'll happen.
"You want me to pick you up and carry you on my shoulders? Really?" He doesn't seem opposed to the idea and seems to make up his mind when you tell him that you're tired. "Ah, I forget that humans don't have as much stamina as Cybertronians. If you're tired, I don't see any harm in it. Are you sure though? I'm a lot taller, and I heard lots of humans are scared of heights."
At your reassurance, Optimus leans down, hooking his arms under your legs and lifting you up to sit on his shoulders with an inhuman level of steadiness and care to make sure you can't fall.
"Are you comfortable?" He asks, holding onto one of your legs to steady you and instinctively adjusting his earpiece. You already know to never touch it, but you don't blame his caution.
