Isard stood behind her desk, her hands clasped behind her back as her heterochromatic eyes traced over the warm, yellow lights below. Coruscant, the venerable Imperial Center. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people's homes as far as the eye could see. An innumerable traffic flow of speeders, shuttles, and other vehicles moving back and forth, moving in and out of orbit. Despite the blur of events that had occurred over the past year; Kriff, over the past twenty years, some things never changed. If only they understood what was going on right under their feet. The thought caused her lips to curl up in a small, subconscious smile; of what she knew and trillions of others didn't. Seemingly as soon as the smile had crossed her lips, it was gone. A beeping from her commlink on her desk interrupting the silence.

She let out an annoyed exhale and stepped over, picking the commlink up and pressing her thumb down on the button, speaking curtly into it

    "What is it?"

She brought her thumb back off the button as the voice of a stormtrooper speaking through his helmet came back through the device to her

"Sorry to bother you, Madam Director. Someone here to see you."

A small slip of her composure, gone as quick as her smile had been, a small furrow of her brow as she thought, eyes flickering away for a moment... had she summoned anyone up to her office? Had she scheduled a meeting? No, obviously not, it was nearly two in the morning. Normally she would be in bed by now; not that she slept soundly most nights anyway.

Clearing the thoughts from her head with a small shake, she pressed her thumb back down and responded, her voice steady

    "Fine. Send them in."

She lightly tossed the device back onto the desk and grabbed her red Intelligence blouse that was slung over the back of her chair, sliding it over her head and redoing her buckle. With a small moment of making adjustments to her hair, she crossed her legs and awaited the arrival of her unexpected guest.
