The boys were all sitting in the common room on a Friday evening. You had gone off to your dorm to drop off your stuff and once more the guys got into a playful argument over who was better for you. This tended to happen quite a bit though you didn't know this was happening.
“I’m the one who makes her laugh when no one else can. Reckless? Sure but I'm the one who knows her fire because I carry it with me too.” Mattheo speaks up sitting back in the couch
“Well I'm the one who understands her silence. Words aren’t always necessary. You just have to listen to what she's not saying.” Theo says next and Draco scoffs.
“I show her the world she deserves. Sophisticated, refined. The only one who knows how to treat her like the queen she is.”
“Please Draco.” Enzo says with a roll of his eyes. “She doesn't need a throne, she needs someone to make her feel free. And that's me. I reminded her that life is too short to be serious all the time.” This makes Blaise chuckle.
“Freedom is nice but she needs stability, someone who’s grounded and that's me. The one who watches and protects and understands her better than she realizes.”
“You are all missing the point.” Tom says, sitting forward in his chair. “She doesn't need to be saved or freed , she needs someone who can challenge her, who isn’t afraid of her strength. That's why she comes to me.” He says with a smug smile.
“But I see her for who she really is.” Regulus says now speaking up. “Not just the fire or the strength but the cracks she tries to hide. I know her even when she doesn’t know herself.”
The boys all scoff or groan and keep talking not realizing you had just walked in. You didn't catch everything but caught a few things and knew it was about you but you were unsure why they were talking about you. When you got closer Tom saw you first and with a quick look all the guys looked back at you and smiled as you took a seat between Enzo and Regulus.
