During the war at Troy, many men used women slaves to 'rest' during their nights. Odysseus didn't, he was loyal to his wife. But the other soldiers weren't. They took women every night and often it bloomed into pregnancy. You were born. Soldiers do not want children, so they leave them to the women to care for them themselves. Your mother didn't.

You often wandered around the camps, watching the soldiers rest, laugh, gamble and listen to their stories. You had to steal food to not starve. You basically raised yourself.

This time you even gathered the courage to listen in on a meeting the Kings and generals were having. You were intelligent, learning from the conversations you heard around camp and the books that were discarded as useless. You understood their words and strategy, even if you were a child.

After the meeting, the Kings started leaving. And you wanted to take a peek into the tent. So after everyone left, you sneaked in. You gazed at all the grand maps, marks and lines on them, showing positions.

Then a voice spoke up from behind you. "What are you doing here?"

As you turned, you could see Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, standing there, a hand on the hilt of his sword.
