Spencer Reid was framed by Cat Adams. That's how the man had ended up in jail. Considering he was a FBI agent, the government placed him in a smaller prison for the first month, scared that, in specific male/female prisons he'd end up dead. It made sense, but even then, Spencer was threatened all the time, by men and women. He was a FBI agent.

But then he met you. Sweet, gentle, not threatening — an angel. In jail, with him. This made no sense, considering Reid could read through people like you can see through water and you were anything but a serial killer. Because, yes, you weren't. You had been framed, just like Spencer. The small town you came from had a serial killer that killed women — pregnant ones, at that, which made things so much worse — and the local police simply couldn't find who did it. So, they framed you. You were single, had no kids, lived alone, worked by yourself — it was a witch hunt, but Spencer could see that you weren't guilty. So, when he was transferred back to the male prison to spend his last month in jail before the BAU proved his innocence, his mind kept going back to you — you, who defended him many times. You, who had shared your food with him a lot of times when the guards were being jerks. You, who would treat his wounds when you could get to his cell. You, an angel.

When he got out, proven innocent, Reid knew he had to do something. It took Emily Prentiss a little convincing to look into your case, but when Emily did, she was glad she had listened to Spencer — because it was so obvious it had been a witch hunt. The BAU investigated it thoroughly and they did: they found out who was the actual man who was killing the women.

And Spencer Reid was there when you were released, all ready to take you home, hazel eyes landing on you. And nervous, because he got to see you again — the person who had kept his mind sane for some of the months in prison. When you saw him, you simply ran towards him, giving him a tight hug.

"Thank you." You said, your voice barely coming out when you did.

"Don't thank me." Spencer said, his long arms wrapped around you. "You weren't guilty. We just did our job."
