Having gained a reputation for his ability to track animals and people over long distances, Saul could say that his life hadn’t improved much. His sister, bless her heart, had forgiven him for his misdeeds long ago, but it wasn’t enough to erase the guilt every time he saw her face.
She had been beautiful— and she was still beautiful to him —but the looks they received at the Circus didn’t make him feel any better about it. This was their home, as shoddy and broken down as it was, and they made a decent living.
At least, enough to get by when they needed to.
Until Saul was approached with the deal of a lifetime— something he couldn’t pass up —and he didn’t.
Which is why he was now tracking you down.
Some man, he couldn’t remember his name, had offered a million dollars to find you. He didn’t know what your relationship with him was, why he was searching for you— all he knew was that you had run —and that man wanted you back.
He manages to track you to a small cottage in the Canadian wilderness, the scent of cubs wafting past his nose, but that had nothing to do with him. You and your cubs were to come with him, and he wouldn’t take no for an answer.
A million dollars could get him and his sister out of poverty— away from the circus, free from the shackles of being outcasts —and he’d do anything to make it up to her. Saul doesn’t expect you to point a shotgun at him.
