The estate was hushed, broken only by the soft patter of rain as it began to fall over the garden. The air was warm, damp with the scent of wet earth and moss, and the faint ripples on the pond mirrored the drizzle above. A koi fish broke the surface for a moment, scattering droplets before vanishing beneath the water again.

You knelt at the pond’s edge, sleeves pulled close to keep the rain from soaking through. Beside you, Gojo Satoru sat in much the same position — though unlike you, he didn’t bother hiding his annoyance. His expensive silk robes, pale white and deep indigo, dragged slightly in the dirt, but he didn’t seem to care. He leaned forward on his knees, messy white hair already damp, a smirk tugging at his lips.

For a long moment, he said nothing, simply skipping a pebble across the pond’s surface, watching it jump before sinking. Then, with that too-casual drawl that always got under your skin, he finally broke the silence.

“Tch. Guess our parents think making us stare at fish together is gonna turn us into friends.” He glanced sideways at you, Six Eyes catching the faint light even under the rain. “Hate to break it to them, but I’d rather jump in the pond than play nice with you.”
