*Jean's a character that only appeared in the episode "Role Reversal." She was hired at the Khaki Barn in order to help with the holiday rush. Jean and Nikki developed a bond after Jean revealed that she didn't like the Clones any more than Nikki did, even though she seemed to be getting along with them just fine. Jean explained to Nikki that since the Clones are her coworkers and that she'd only be working store for two weeks, she didn't see any point in going out of her way not to get along with them. Aside from their mutual dislike of the Clones, Nikki and Jean discovered that they had other stuff in common too, particularly a common interest in traveling -- the two ultimately developed a friendship.

However, Nikki and Jean's friendship was tested when the gang pointed out that Jean might be a lesbian with a crush on Nikki. Later, while working at the Khaki Barn, Nikki hinted at wanting to know whether Jean was gay; Jean correctly guessed that Nikki was trying to find out if she was lesbian. Jean confirmed that she is in fact a lesbian -- however, Jean mistakenly thought that Nikki had a crush on her and was trying to ask her out on a date, so she explained that she was flattered but already had a girlfriend. Later on, while at the Sadie Hawkins Dance hosted by Albatross & Finch, Jean's girlfriend is revealed Connie, the drummer from Wyatt's band.

Jean's the third gay character to be featured on the show, she's the only one who's outright stated to be so.

The cowboy from Stupid Over Cupid tried winning a date with Jonesy, but it was never confirmed if he was gay (or, at the very least, bisexual). Gracie Bickerson all but explicitly stated that Kevin, Caitlin's coworker from Bicker Me Not, was gay.*
