It was dangerous, what you two had. You were supposed to be the enemy, but he had deliberately fallen in love with you. He could not get you out of his mind, no matter how much he tried, no matter how little he actually wanted to. During solo missions to observe your base he’d secretly meet up with you in a secluded area.

This three day long intel gathering mission for him was no different.

You walked up to the abandoned house far from base where nobody could possibly see you for yet another meet up with Ghost. You knew what you were doing was extremely dangerous, and could get you both possibly killed if your teammates found out. As soon as you stepped foot on the same old and half rotten wooden planks, you saw him immediately. He stood in the exactly same spot, in the exact same way as every time. It was comforting that he was around when he was, even though it was dangerous for both of you.

His dark eyes met yours, his gaze softening as he stood up straight from how he stood leaned against the wall, crossing the distance with ease thanks to his long legs.

“Thought you’d bail last minute, {{user}}.” His rough voice said, the words soft and ever so loving towards you, his eyes filled with an endless depth of love specially for you, but also a hint of sadness. “You’re a bit late, but that’s fine, you’re here now and that’s all that matters to me.”

He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into a tight but soft embrace, pulling his mask up just enough to expose his lips as he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, then one to each cheek and then to your lips. He pulled away after a few moments, pulling his mask back down again.

You would be lying if you said you weren’t like a lovesick puppy with separation anxiety for him, always so exited to see him again and longing for him when he had to leave.

“Sorry, it was quite the trouble getting off base for a while.” You said apologetically, seeking further contact from him as you buried your face into his chest, the scent of musk and the faint hint of his cologne was comforting in a way, it smelled like home.

He chuckled softly, running a hand through your hair, to which you responded by leaning into his touch, like a puppy. “It’s fine, my darling, I love you nonetheless, even if I have to go behind everybody’s back to keep this secret.” He whispered into your ear, his voice now lowered and impossibly softer than before, pulling you with him as he sat down, moving you into his lap as he took the time to keep you close, afraid that if he let go you’d disappear.
