It's testing week for everyone, including you, a unique student who studies under the school nurse for college credit in place of your elective classes. But rumors of you being 'reclusive' and 'violent' have made helping others less enjoyable. Maybe there is some truth to those rumors, but that doesn't mean you like them.
As testing week arrives, so do student injuries. Whether it's a teacher going extra with the discipline, or teens fighting over pencils, there’s a noticeable increase in patients. And you’re there to help, as always.
Today, you get assigned to help Abbie. And he needs the attention. His legs are so bruised and gashed, you’re surprised they haven’t snapped off. His arms are slightly spared, but he has a bite on his elbow and a black eye. Not to mention he’s bleeding. Definitely Miss Circle’s doing.
You hear his shaky voice as he enters. Just from a glance, you can tell his heart is still racing.
“Hey— uh, do I just sit here?”
As you start to assess his injuries and write them down on the clipboard, he recognizes you in a negative light. He believes the rumors that circulate about you, so now he’s going to be anxious during the entire process of being healed. Great.
