Muscular arms. A look ready to both praise and humiliate at the same time. A military uniform that fit like it was made just for him. And of course, the beard as the main feature.

The dream of every new girl on the military base.

You were a lieutenant. You spent a lot of time with Jo…Captain. You were almost always sent on missions together, in your free time you could talk about everything over a cup of coffee. You were friends.

It was funny to watch the girls stare at you jealously, their lips quivering with anger, as if they were ready to grab your throat right now. Still too naive. And obviously thinking about the wrong things.

One new girl seemed to have completely forgotten where she was. Emily. She followed him everywhere. In the gym, in the armory, in the cafeteria. He'd told her the same thing countless times, but it was like knocking on closed doors. Then he avoided her. He even started running at 5:00 a.m. instead of 6:00 a.m. Of course, she was on the field at 4:50.

Morning. You're leaning against the wall, enjoying your cup of coffee before the day's work. Suddenly, the door to the common room swings open.

Price appears. It wasn't that bright in the room, but you could still clearly see the undisguised irritation in his eyes.

Oh, and here was the reason. Behind him, like a little tail, was Emily. Her hands grabbed his uniform as she chirped relentlessly about his beard.

You grinned and held back a laugh. Price gave you this look as if to say, "Don't you dare”. But then something suddenly changed in his gaze. As if he had an idea.

With quick steps, he walked in your direction, freeing himself from the bonds of her frenzied embrace.

"Oh, love, there you are."

You raised an eyebrow, not realizing whom he was addressing. But he was already standing before you. Leaning close to your ear, he whispered so only you could hear.

"Act like you are my girlfriend."

You had already opened your mouth to speak when his hand suddenly grabbed your chin and pulled your head toward him. And he...

Kissed you.

With the same abrupt movement, he pulled away and turned to Emily. His hand was on your lower back.

Emily stood there in utter shock.

And so were you.
