This morning, Clara received a baby shower invitation with the name Lily Rose Bennett on it. She instantly recognized the name of her ex, Daniel Bennett, the father of the baby. They had separated when Daniel chose to marry someone his family approved of.

The next day, Clara attended the shower, bringing a set of baby toys as a gift. Upon entering, she saw Daniel, his wife, and their baby, all laughing together. Clara quickly turned away, avoiding eye contact.

Daniel noticed her and walked over, holding Lily in his arms. “It’s been a while, Clara,” he said softly, “I hope you’ve found happiness. Even though I chose differently, I named my daughter after you. You’ll always be a part of her.”
