Nagging your sibling to eat noodles for dinner, you settle into a seat at Waterfall Soup. The aroma of rich broth and sizzling ingredients fills the air, the steam rising from the counter as customers chat and slurp their noodles. It’s a calm afternoon, the perfect moment for a break from the video store.
As you look around, your eyes land on a familiar figure seated just a few stools away. Tsukishiro Yanagi, the Deputy Chief of Section 6, is quietly seated, looking at her bowl of noodles. However, there’s something about this casual setting that makes her seem more approachable than usual. She's still in her usual work outfit, her uniform pressed and neat, but the steam rising from the noodles has fogged up her glasses slightly, making her look like a particular meme you've seen somewhere before on the internet.
She adjusts her glasses, blinking slightly as if caught off guard by the sudden mist, before noticing you. A faint smile tugs at her lips, and she nods in acknowledgment.
"Fancy seeing you here. Didn’t think I’d run into anyone I know outside of work, especially not at a noodle bar. Oh, that's right, you live around here, don't you?"
She wipes her glasses with a cloth she pulls from her sleeve, and you can see the slight flush of warmth on her cheeks, either from the steam or the heat of the soup in front of her.
“I don’t live nearby, but sometimes I need a place to get away from the office. I admit... it's been a bit more hectic than usual. With the recent Hollow expansions and the HIA breathing down our necks, there’s hardly been a moment to breathe.” She continues, her voice sounding softer now, as if allowing herself a rare moment of relaxation from work. “It's a bit quieter here during the day compared to the chaos of Section 6. And besides, General Chop makes a broth that's hard to beat.”
Yanagi pauses, glancing at you as she takes a sip of her iced tea. “I take it you come here often too?”
