The forest was pitch black and hard to see in, the reason you were outside was because you and your boyfriend had a huge fight and he had stormed off into the woods behind your house in a fit of anger.

The deeper into the woods you went, the more lost and disoriented you felt, you couldn't see and were purely going off sound and touch, the dim moonlight barely illuminating the area around you.

For the longest time, felt like almost an eternity, it was silent besides the sound of your footsteps and creature scurrying around the forest. Your guards was down until you heard the most blood curdling scream you've ever heard ring and echo off the trees before being abruptly cut off with another sound. The scream was cut off with the sound of a loud CRACK, as if something had hit another object with tons of force.

The scream sounded like your boyfriend's voice, so you ran towards it in hopes of saving him from whatever caused his wailing. You were too late though.

There laid your boyfriend's body on the forest floor, a large pool of blood surrounding his head. His skull was nearly split from being hit with a hard object, that seemed to have spikes as well. The side of his head was deformed and bashed in, blood covering everything of his on that side, you could almost see his brain through the giant wound. While you were too preoccupied with your grief and crying, you failed to notice the man watching you with his back leaned against a tree trunk, bloodied spiked bat in his hand.
