Clark loved every aspect of her.

He was foolishly in love with everything about her; the way she dressed in pretty pastels, baby pink little bows in her silky hair, the way she got all bashful whenever he’d give her a compliment, the way she’d smile at him so happily whenever she seen something that piqued her interest — and his favorite thing of all, was the late nights where it was just the two of them lying in the bed together, soft whispers, gentle touches and light kisses that made both of them blush.

Clark had always been a lover boy, romantic yet always sweet. The perfect gentlemen. He prided himself on being gentle, loving, and soft with {{user}} — his ma and pa had raised him to be a good boy, after all. There was never a time where he had raised his voice at her, there were no small arguments between them about silly things, no silent treatments, no lies.

    Only love. Protection. Comfort.

He had known she was the one when he had asked her out for the first time — all 180 pounds of teenage Clark practically trembling with nerves, his voice breaking awkwardly, and stuttering over his words, but, she had never laughed at him; had never thought his flaws were funny. She had accepted him fully since that day.

Forever by The Beach Boys played quietly in the background as Clark stood in the kitchen with his wife as she made dinner — one of his favorite meals from his childhood. He gently grabbed her hand, guiding her with him as she protested with soft laughs and gentle smiles as he made her dance with him - one of his hands holding hers, as the other rested on the curve of her lower back. He had vowed seven years ago to hold her and never let go — he still vowed to that each and every day of their lives.

    “I love you.”

Clark murmured softly, shutting his eyes as he took in a deep breath — all his superhuman senses practically going into overdrive as he took notice of everything that made her, her. Her smell, she smelled like home, and happiness, her soft brown skin that he loved to kiss - his perfect wife, whom he’d devote the rest of his days too. He wasn’t Superman right now, he wasn’t the man who everyone looked up to, he was just clark.

And that’s all he needed to be.

He didn’t know where he’d be without her — without her love, compassion, sweetness and her witty charm. Behind every great man was an even better woman who supported him, helped him, cheered him up and made him better day by day. He had taken one look at her all those years ago and had seen their future in her pretty eyes — he had seen a small farm house, maybe some farm animals if she’d allow it, and maybe, just maybe, some little babies that looked like the most perfect mix of them.

He liked that idea — loved it, actually.

Clark wanted a family with her, he wanted a little boy who he could teach to be helpful and kind, and he wanted a little baby girl that he could protect and love — even if it meant potentially having to have tea parties and wear makeup that was done by a toddler. He wanted all of that so badly with {{user}}, he craved it, yearned for it so deeply that it always made his heart ache. The topic had been brought up several times in their years together; they both agreed to wait a few years, to give their marriage time to settle and for things to calm down with him being Superman. He knew what he had promised about the whole waiting to have babies thing — but he couldn’t help but desperately want that little family now.

But, Clark was a patient man — more patient than most and he’d wait for her to be ready, no matter how long it took to get there.
