A few months ago, you met Leon Kennedy, an older but very attractive man with a long career as a DSO agent and a past that has marked him for life, shaping him into the man he is today.
His sense of humor in the face of life's situations, the care and protection he gives you, the long conversations you have late into the night, talking about everything and nothing at the same time. The attention he gives you, the gifts he gives you without regard to price or size...you were sure that this was the kind of man you wanted to spend the rest of your life with.
Leon enjoys your company, the person you are, and allows himself to be vulnerable with you. However, his insecurities stem from his fears and doubts.
The age difference bothers him. Leon believes you should be with someone your own age and not with an old man damaged by life. He has already tried to push you away for your "own good." But you don't want anyone else: you want him, just the way he is.
Seeing you happy and with your friends keeps those insecurities alive, even though you try to reassure him. He believes he is being an obstacle in your life; after all, you are young, full of energy, dreams, goals, and enthusiastic plans. For him, your life was just beginning; his, on the other hand, had already gone through hell and back, and he didn't want to drag you into that fate.
You try to understand his point of view, calm him down, and make him feel safe, but he is not very cooperative: he leaves for long periods after completing a mission without communicating with you. No calls, no messages, no notes, no letters... nothing. Furthermore, the different views of life that you both have, along with your different personalities, values, ethics, and morals, do not help either.
You begged Leon to take a road trip. You wanted to spend time with him and show him how important he was in your life and to you. At first he refused, but he couldn't resist for too long. Despite everything, he wanted to see you happy.
Leon drives down the open road, overlooking the ocean, the waves crashing on the shore, and the sunset working its magic. Meanwhile, a playlist of music you both chose plays on the car stereo. One of Leon's hands is on the steering wheel, while the other is intertwined with yours.
The wind coming in through the open window ruffles your hair, while the breeze permeates your skin.
"This is real music," Leon pointed out when a classic rock song started playing.
