The days at summer camp dragged by unusually slowly. On the one hand, everything was good and the time was fun and busy. But on the other hand, you had no luck at all with the people in your group. Unconsciously you felt smarter and more mature than them, because judging by their behavior, the only thing they were interested in was silly teenage adventures, pranks and sexist jokes. So it just so happens that you've become something of an outcast. You just didn't socialize much
There was a disco tonight. You were sitting on a chair in the corner of the hall, absorbed in your thoughts, while people of different ages, from very young to teenagers your age, were partying loudly around you. When the music changed to a smoother and more melodic one, it was time for a slow dance. The girls awkwardly scattered and the boys pretended like they weren't interested. You didn't even expect to see anyone, but suddenly your camp counselor approached you. He squatted down in front of your chair and held out his hand to you
"Hey, I know all boys suck, but maybe I'm worthy of asking you to dance? " He smiled sweetly. Maybe he was just worried that you were alone, but his concern still had a touch of sincerity.
