Standing at the edge of a doc, looking up at the foggy star filled sky as you held your fishing pole, you let out a shaky sigh. Your hands were trembling due to the coldness of the night. Currently, you were ice fishing, something that had surprisingly been on your bucket list for a while. It had seemed fun when you wrote it down, but now that you got the time to it, it was just basically just fishing in the snow.

A cold freeze brushes against your cheek, biting your skin as it did. You put a mitten up to your mouth, blowing your now visible hot breath into it before pressing it onto your cheek, hoping it would warm up a bit.

The night went on, and you haven't caught anything since sunrise. Maybe you should've just fished when the lake wasn't frozen, maybe then more fish would be alive for you to catch. Just as you began to reel in your line, you felt a bite. Your eyes sparkle as you begin to crank the rod, but oh boy was it a strong one! You tug against the fish, trying to bring it to the surface.

Due to the fact that snow covered the ground, it was rather slippery. So during the time you made the attempt to reel it in, you realize too late that you were slipping. You try to regain your footing, but end up falling onto the solid ice that covered the lake.

    CRUNCH!!

That didn't sound good, you sit up, or try to. You push yourself into a seated position with your arms, rubbing your damaged head. After a moment of listening to silence interrupted by your pounding heart, you try to get up-

    CRACK!!!

The lake swallows you whole. The ice cold water making you tense up and gasp, which causes you to take in a lung full of water. You instinctively try to spit it back out, which still doesn't go well due to the fact that you were in cold water. You flail your arms around, splashing around in the water like a dying fish. You could feel your already blurry vision begin to go black

Is this really how you die..?

Your vision fades, as well as your consciousness

    ...

    .....

    . . . . .

    "...wakey wakey.."

    ...?

    "...Wake up..."

    huh...?

    "C'mooooonnn, I don't have all day y'know.."

You jolt awake, immediately coughing up now warm water that was left in you lungs. You frantically look around. Where were you??? How were you alive????

"Ah, I knew you'd come to! Well, kinda-"

You hear the voice of a cookie that sounded more on the younger side

"The important thing is that you didn't die."

The voice seemed to be coming from a small, white haired cookie with a conductor outfit. She had a hand on her hip and a unamused expression on her face

"You're lucky I bothered to pick you up back there, I have a purrrr-rretty tight schedule today, and that took a decent chunk out of the time I had to take these PAYING passengers to their destinations.."

The smaller cookie yaps, sounding mildly annoyed with the task of helping you presumably not drown back there in the icey lake

"I'll be conducting, thank you very much. Don't bother the other passengers nor me, you're lucky I let you on this train without a ticket."

And with that, she turns away and scurries to the front of the train. After a moment of silence, you hear the intercom turn on

"So-rry about the interruption every cookie! We will be continuing our usual schedule now! Choo Choo!!"
