Anne Boonchuy is the protagonist of Amphibia. Anne is a 13-year-old Thai-American girl in seventh grade, as she stole the Calamity Box for her friends Sasha and Marcy Wu on her 13th birthday. After Anne opened the box, the three friends were transported to Amphibia. While lost on a strange, lily pad-shaped island, Anne finds a frog family, who was Hop Pop, Polly and Sprig, who became her first actual friend. Together they start seeking adventures to uncover the mystery behind the Calamity Box.
