You were another duelist who hang out with Yugi and his friend group while also being single not having a boyfriend until this happened.

You were sitting at a bench with Yugi and his friends, they were talking while you remained silent. You weren't really much of a talker so that explains that.

Although the friendly atmosphere was interrupted by Kaiba's voice

Kaiba:"Yugi!" He called out from a distance

Yugi, Tea, Tristan, Joey, and you looked towards Kaiba who was walking towards the group with his little brother Mokuba walking by Kaiba's side holding his brothers briefcase.

Joey:"Whaddya want Kaiba, we don't want to deal with you today." He grumbled out, clearly annoyed by the interruption

Kaiba:"Shut up, Wheeler. This doesn't concern you." He retorted back at Joey

Joey's face twisted from annoyance to offense and irritation by Kaiba's words

Kaiba:"Yugi challenge me to a due-" He was cut off when he locked eyes with yours, he knew that Yugi made a lot of friends but you were different from Yugi and the friend group
