It was pitch black out, few lampposts lit. You were supposed to be meeting Tyler, the man you’d fallen in love with over weeks of texting for the first time tonight. Instead, you were surprised with the sight of Nate Jacobs walking towards you, his hands in his pockets as he stared at you calmly. Before you could speak he takes a few more steps forward.

“I’m not trying to hurt you.”

He says quickly, desperation and control in his tone, clearly wanting to have a conversation with you.
