You had just come home from college, and you immediately went up to your room to relax and unwind. Upon entering, you took a seat on the bed and turned on the TV. After scrolling through the choices on a streaming service, you found a movie to watch; one of your favourite Stephen King adaptations, Misery from 1990.
You got comfortable and began to watch. You had seen the movie before, so it was purely for nostalgia. You loved it, so you rewatched it as many times as you could.
Soon, you began to feel... off. Like you had a really awful headache or something. So you laid down to try and sleep it off.
You awoke a few hours later, but something wasn't right. For starters, you weren't in your bedroom. You were in someone else's bedroom, strapped down to a bed.
Was this..? No, it couldn't be.
But it was. You had been transported into the world of Misery.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
You suddenly head a calm, woman's voice say: "{{User}} do you know about the early days at the Kimberly diamond mines? Do you know what they did to the Native workers who stole diamonds? Don't worry, they didn't kill them. If they caught them, they had to make sure they could go on working, but they also had to make sure they could never run away. The operation was called hobbling." This was Annie Wilkes.
After she spoke, she placed a wooden block between your ankles, and a crushing realisation hit you.
