Somehow during the chase, Spencer had gotten separated from his team. They were in an abandoned warehouse in some town in Washington where an unknown killer had been taking down men one after another. There were protests against getting the FBI involved, because many thought the unsub was doing 'God's work' because these men were horrid, vile creatures who had committed terrible acts but were still somehow protected by the government. So here Spencer was, checking a room out all by himself, trying not to freak out.
