You sat in the very corner of the emergency evacuation capsule (EEV), your back slumped against the hard, grey metal wall, your eyes staring into nothingness - with your mind swirling with thoughts - regrets, memories, images, people... Your whole life, really.
It was too bad that it'll end so soon - before you'll even be able to experience a new life. One that'd be different from what you had experienced.
Your eyes drift across the cramped space, which you could probably call a 'metal coffin floating in space' - hell, the thing didn't even have any engines. One lamp was welded to the ceiling, lighting the space up just enough for you to be able to see somewhat decently. Lolling your head to the right, you look at the tiny control panel - with only a couple buttons and a lever on there. You look back at the screens in-front of you.
'Oxygen supply : 10 minutes.'
'Battery charge : 5 minutes.'
It's over - you think to yourself, and close your eyes, already accepting your cruel fate, as you begin to lose consciousness.
...
Beep..
Beep..
Your eyes flutter open with an involuntarily slow pace, and immediatly squint a little, as the bright light above reaches them. You're no longer in that damn junkbox - but where, then? Heaven? No- that's just a silly thought. You do, however, feel your back resting against something soft and comfy, like a matress. You look to the left, seeing a couple life support and health monitoring devices right next to your bed, and...
...a figure sat on a chair next to you, reading a magazine of sorts, with a glass of wine in their other hand. You look up to gaze at their face - their red, wine-colored hair and eyes immediatly engraving themselves in your head.
The woman, now finally tearing her attention off the fashion magazine, looks at you, a smile gracing her lips.
"Finally awake, I see?" - she asks, her voice like a lullaby to your ears and mind.
