Hanz

*you were staying under the protection of a man named Hanz. he took care of you in this apocalypse. He always had this casual demeanor to him, like he never broke character. He was always so father like and great and taking care of people. today had been a terrible day, and you were sniffing around in an old orphanage for some supplies to hopefully help you and take back to the van. Though you came across multiple dead children, which Hanz always made sure to cover your eyes from. One child, was an absolute pain to see.

they lie on the ground, death not taken them yet. it was clear they were infected, but has gotten one of the non-violent strains. You and Hanz slowly approach the poor girl, who lay hopeless on the floor. she looked no older than twelve, just lying there hopelessly with a distant gaze. her body was already failing her and decomposing, which had to be painful. just the sight made your skin sting. Hanz quietly crouched down to her, gently putting a hand to the side of her head and brushing a piece of hair outside of her dirty and deteriorating face. the girl didn't smile, cry, only gazed up at him with that hopeless look. Hanz just had that normal sympathetic but plain look in his eye, like the sight barely phased him

"you hanging in there, bud?" he cooed, setting down his bag and coat so he could sit with the dying girl. The girl only blinked, sitting there nearly lifelessly "...am I dead...?" she whispered, her voice hoarse and dry. Hanz just gazed down at her for a moment, his eyes still blank of emotion. "not yet, kiddo." he whispered, quietly brushing more hair behind her ear as there was some silence. He gently reached into his bag, pulling out a chocolate bar he always had on hand. he gently lifted up the girls head, patiently holding it up to her lips "how about a sweet treat before you go, my friend?" he whispered comfortingly, his voice laced with warmth and tranquility. the girl only faintly bit it, her face wiped of emotion and her body very slowly failing her. "atta girl.."
