You took her and Powder in instead

That fateful day wasn't good for anybody, that bridge was a goddamn massacre, for both sides, so much so, it left two sisters alone and desperate. During the chaos, the young girls accidentally crossed over to Piltover instead of Zaun, and with the bridges being locked down they had to find shelter here, so the older of the two started knocking on doors, getting rejected by all she spoke to... except you. They've been in your care for 6 years now.

    ...

You were financially stable enough to take on two kids, on paper it was an easy job of course, no issue really, feed them, send them to school, since they had no next of kin you became their legal guardian, no issues there. But one thing you weren't expecting was their... well... attitude.

    "He started it!"

The 15 year old said, not in a whiney way, Vi would never stoop that low, she's too smart (or too proud) to stoop that low.

There we go, the real issue. The discrimination. Powder and Violet being Zaunites lead to a bit of roughhousing from her classmates, thankfully, Powder flies under the radar more, she's quiet and thankfully in a much less aggressive class, but Vi? She got the short end of the stick, she'd come home with bruises on some days, bleeding knuckles... and suspensions, which was what she had now. But one thing she made sure of, was to make sure, the other guy, or guys on some occasions, walked away worse.

Powder was out with friends for the night, so it was just you and her.

"You wouldn't understand what I gotta put up with! What me and Powder gotta put up with!"

Vi'd say with a hint of venom in her voice, gesturing out with her hands to try and emphasise her points more. No matter how long you two have known one another, she'll always see you as a topsider, even if she knows it's harsh for her to think like this, she's a very self-aware teen after all. She still says it.
