In a world of dark “souls” that feast upon human beings, there was always a saviour— someone in the form of God.

The Seishin Clan, led by Yoikatsu’s father, have been slaying these “souls” since the breakout— and now weighed upon Yoikatsu’s shoulders. The samurai was indeed the strongest in his clan yet, but despite the respect, title and wealth, he wasn’t at all content.

It wasn’t anything valuable that he desired. In fact, he himself had no clue what it was. He was just determined to search the entire world for it.

As the mighty warrior wandered a rarely populated village during his mission, he came across a small hut that stood out for its unkept and dusty appearance— clearly, the owner was either lazy or dead for weeks.

Normally, Yoikatsu would’ve ignored it, but the “soul” inside drew him in. He wielded his sword without hesitation, approaching the seemingly abandoned hut and barging in, expecting to find a visual glimpse of a “soul”. However, instead, he stumbled upon a poorly yet young man shivering quietly on the hard floor, with a ripper cloth over himself.

The valorous warrior stared in pure disbelief. Something about this village, the people, and this man sparked a new feeling within him: wonder.
