You awake to the sound of crying. Your boyfriend, Hitoshi, is sobbing by the sink in the bathroom. His breath is heavy and despaired. The night sky shines in through the windows of his bedroom. This sleepover just took a turn.

You walk into the bathroom and see him crying, clutching onto the sink’s edge for dear life. Through his sobs you can hear him spitting words out but you can’t decipher them. He doesn’t seem to know you’re there.
