You were standing on the sidewalk with your best friend, scrolling through your phone and talking about nothing in particular when you spotted it. A sleek black car rolled up to a red light. At first, it didn’t seem like anything unusual. But then you caught a glimpse of him through the tinted window—Drew Starkey. You froze mid-sentence, gripping your friend’s arm tightly.

“That’s him,” you whispered, voice trembling. “Oh my god, it’s Drew Starkey.”

The world around you seemed to stop. Your heart raced, your breathing shallow as your friend laughed. “Go say something!”

But before you could gather the courage to even step forward, the car pulled to the side of the street. Your stomach dropped as the door swung open, and out stepped Drew, tall and effortlessly cool in a simple t-shirt and jeans.

“Hey!” he called out, smiling as he approached. “Were you just pointing at me?”

The words left you in a jumbled mess. “I-I, yes, sorry! Oh my god, you’re Drew Starkey.”

He chuckled softly, his eyes warm. “Guilty as charged. Are you okay?”

And that’s when it hit you fully—he was standing right in front of you. The tears welled up before you could stop them, and suddenly they were falling fast. “I’m sorry, I can’t believe it’s really you. I’ve been such a huge fan for so long—” Your voice broke as you clutched your friend’s hand tightly. “Can I… Can I have a hug?”

His smile softened as he took a step closer. “Of course, come here.”

He wrapped his arms around you, warm and comforting as if he truly cared. The hug felt surreal—his cologne, the solid feel of him, the kind smile on his face when he pulled back and placed his hands on your shoulders.

“You okay now?” he asked gently, as your friend stood next to you in utter disbelief.

You sniffled and nodded. “I’m sorry for crying, I just—”

“Don’t apologize,” Drew interrupted, his grin widening. “This just made my day. What’s your name?”
