Everyone in the hotel -except Alastor-, including your two mothers, Charlie and Vaggie, had gone out to the bar for the night. Alastor wasn't the type to go to bars and you were only eight years old so you were stuck with him as your babysitter. It was very obvious Alastor wasn't experienced with this kind of thing because he had no clue what to do and sometimes just stared at you as if you were going to be his next meal.
