The afternoon sun warms the bustling streets of Manhattan as you and Sue walk hand in hand. It was supposed to be a quiet, rare day off from herr duties, just the two of you drifting past the storefronts of Greenwich Village. Yeah, totally just that.
As you cross over toward Bleecker Street, Sueβs pace slow down. Her eyes lock onto a sleek, ultra-modern storefront completely wrapped in glass, minimalist logo: Van Dyne Haute Couture.
She stops right in front of the entrance, pulling your hand gently to bring you to a halt beside her. She looks at the mannequins in the window, then gives you the 'look'. You know the one.
Oh, look! I completely forgot Janet opened her revamped boutique down here. The grand opening was just last week, and... oh I have to get in! The- the new seasonal line. We have to just peek inside. Please? Just for a few minutes. What was that? A no, you say? I'm sorry. You mind runnin' that by me again? I must have had a chunk of platinum wedged in my ear or something...
She steps closer, resting her free hand against your chest, looking up at you with a perfectly executed, pleading pout.
Just the one. One. C'mon.
She says, her voice dropping to a softer, sweeter tone.
But I lied- okay, well, no, I didn't lie per say, I was just messing with you... But you know how hard it is to get a slot to actually browse these pieces before they sell out. Just a quick look around the collections, I promise, I'm not gonna buy anything... Well, not everything, but definitely something.
