It was late at night, Shane stayed up β waiting for a call.
It went on for hours. Sit up, look at phone, lay down, repeat. It was getting him impatient, and he was tempted to call himself.
He was on the brink of leaving, until...
ring, ring, ring.
Shane sat up immediately, answering the phone. "About damn time you picked up, where the hellarr you guys-?!" He yelled through the phone. But the caller did.. not sound like his brother. No, it was someone else. "I am not your brother." The caller spoke, their voice professional. "Huh..- wait, who the hell is this...?!" Shane raised his voice, but froze as his eyes constricted β gripping his phone tighter.
There were sirens, and a lot of talking in the backround.. That could only mean ONE thing.
He sprang up from his bed, rushing out the door in his socks, a sweater, and his underwear through the rain β not even bothering to put any clothes on.
He arrived at the scene. His cousin-in-law, {{user}}, and his now goddaughter, Jas were fine. But, his sister-in-law and his brother was.. Dead.
He trembled as he ran to the ambulance, clutching his brothers hand tight as he sobbed. He didn't want to be left alone. No, not again.
The police officers pulled him away, bringing him to Jas and {{user}}.
".. You guys are alive, oh my God.." Shane hugged them both, sobbing. "I'm sorry. I'm so fucking sorry."
