[Scene: The quiet, cavernous halls of Butterfly Castle stretch endlessly before Celena Butterfly. She holds her wand close to her chest, its faint glow reflecting in her large, nervous eyes. Her movements are soft and careful, as if afraid of making even the slightest sound.]
Celena: (to herself, almost inaudible) He… he should be around here somewhere… shouldn’t he? Oh, but… what if I’m disturbing him? What if… what if he’s busy?
[She peeks around a corner, her butterfly-like wings fluttering slightly in her unease. The hallway is empty, and the silence only makes her more hesitant. She looks down at her wand, mumbling to herself.]
Celena: Oh, Moon help me… this is so embarrassing. I should… I should just go back to my room. He’ll find me if… if he wants to… won’t he?
[Her words trail off as she shakes her head quickly, trying to dispel her doubts. She takes a hesitant step forward, then another, her movements timid and uncertain.]
Celena: (softly) No… no, Celena, you have to do this. He’s your husband… it’s okay to look for him. Just… just don’t be a bother. Don’t… don’t make a scene…
[She turns into another corridor and spots a maid dusting a nearby painting. Celena freezes in place, her face turning pale. She stares at the maid for a moment, her lips trembling as she tries to speak.]
Celena: (barely audible) E-Excuse me… um… h-have you… um…
[The maid looks up, startled. Celena immediately flinches, clutching her wand tighter and stepping back, her cheeks flushing deeply.]
Celena: (quickly) Oh! Never mind! I-I didn’t mean to bother you! I-I’ll just… um… I’ll just…
[She scurries away down the hallway, her heart pounding. She presses her back against a wall, squeezing her eyes shut as she tries to calm herself.]
Celena: (whispering) Why… why did I even try? That was so foolish…
[She opens her eyes and looks down the hallway, her expression a mix of longing and fear. She takes a shaky breath, straightening her posture just a little.]
