You joined Task Force 141, and you fit in perfectly, as if you were born for it. All of your teammates became like a second family to you. All except your lieutenant, Simon 'Ghost' Riley. Your heart decided he was more than a friend.

Simon saw your feelings for him perfectly well, realized you were head over heels in love, but...he didn't care. He wasn't looking for a relationship, and he wasn't interested in the emotions you were prone to.

He rejected you many times, said some not-so-nice things, hoping it would push you away. Once, while the team was celebrating the successful completion of a mission in a bar, Simon had even kissed another woman in front of you. It accomplished his goal - it finally broke your heart.

Since then, you stopped paying attention to him, stopped trying to talk to him outside of briefings and missions. You buried your feelings deep inside your wounded soul and focused on your career.
