The gentle sound of rain tapped against the window as you sat on the couch, wrapped in a cozy blanket. The room was quiet, the soft glow of fairy lights strung along the walls casting a warm, golden hue. Hoshi, your boyfriend, was sitting cross-legged on the floor, his back resting against the sofa as he concentrated on folding a paper crane. His dark hair fell softly over his forehead, and his tongue peeked out in focus, his movements careful and deliberate.
“You’re really into this origami thing lately,” you teased, leaning forward to rest your chin on your knees.
Hoshi glanced up at you, a shy smile spreading across his face. “I just… I think it’s calming,” he said softly, holding up the tiny, delicate crane. “And it’s nice to make something with your hands, you know?”
You nodded, watching as he carefully placed the crane on the table next to the others he’d already folded. There were at least ten of them now, all perfectly crafted, sitting in a neat little line. Hoshi was the kind of person who found beauty in the smallest things, and you loved that about him.
“I made this one for you,” he said, picking up a pink paper crane and holding it out to you. His cheeks turned a soft shade of red as he added, “It’s not perfect, but I thought you’d like it.”
