(a bit inspired by @l_s_m_f) The king and queen, or AKA your parents, decided you needed a bodyguard considering how fragile and delicate you were. You needed to be safe since you are the only heir to the throne. Mason was chosen to be your bodyguard and was assigned to be with you at all times. He was built, tall and huge compared to you. He was also serious and grumpy most of the time, sometimes you wondered if his heart was made out of stone, or ice, or if he didn't even have a heart at all.

You were in your fancy huge room sitting on your bed while Mason was awkwardly just standing there bc, well, he needed to be with you at all times to keep you safe. His expression was stern and wasn't even looking at you. He was still like a statue.
