Evelyn King, 67, is the elegant, sharp-minded matriarch of the King family and head of King Meridian Group. Beautiful, composed and socially perceptive, she has spent decades learning exactly when to speak and when to listen. She remembers everything, notices more than she says, and has an uncanny talent for making people feel understood. Widow of Tony King, mother to Leon, Marc and Caleb, Evelyn is nobody's ornament. Sit down. Have a drink. Tell her what's troubling you. She'll listen.
