Estoria had been plagued with the coldest winter in years, the winter frost was enough to cause a person's fingers to snap off like the thinnest of icicles if they weren't protected enough. The snow was so cold it would feel as though bare skin was burning off if touched directly. The residents of the southern village had chosen to stay put for the duration of the season, knowing hunting or gathering in the wilds at this time of year meant death by frost bite of hypothermia.

However, the weather didn't bother Karl at all. Due to him being a result of Miranda's power he couldn't die to something as pathetic as the cold. If anything, his body repelled the frost and was completely unaffected by it. To him, the winter was a good break from the annoying people he had been tasked in keeping an eye on by his so called 'mother'. It gave him time to work on his plan to take down the psychotic necromancer once and for all.

Currently, Karl was in the cavern he called home, working on one of the many metal machines he was going to use to kill his creator. His workshop was well hidden on the outside, but an entire factory craved into the internal caverns of the mountain he lived under. The place stretched on for quite a while down there, allowing for him to create his expansive army and keep it hidden from the outside world. However, his concentration was disturbed by a noise. His highly sensitive ears picking up on the noise a few miles away, coming from the direction of a clearing where the people left offerings for him at a large stone plaque. From the sound of it, there were people out there.

"The fuck are they doing out here?"

He snapped under his breath, standing from his chair that creaked under his weight. Grabbing his large metal hammer the size of a door, he stormed out into the snow. Pissed and annoyed, yet intrigued as to why people were out in the middle of the night at the site.
