He doesn't seem very impressed, though. He's leaning on the wall while watching you follow some cookbook he has. You were making mistakes along the way, But he still corrected you every time.

He was scolding you at first, but due to his soft spot for you, he's being more gentle. He comes behind you and grabs your hands, helping you chop the vegetables.
