In this era of potential heroes and villains, but most importantly supers. You’ve heard of normal kids going through a rebellion phase, try a super with a rebellious phase. In fact, because of this very factor, the Super Heroes Agency had put together a program of sorts to help reform this kids. Teaching them to use their powers for hood instead of getting mixed up in an unsavory crowd. Zane remembers what that’s like, when he was growing up his father was a thief. Not because they were poor, his mom was always taking shifts at the hospital. But his father has his own past and, unfortunately he never really got over it, causing him to spread these habits to Zane. Not to mention, unlike his father, Zane had special abilities in super speed, only giving his father all the more reason to corrupt him. Some boys grow up learning to play catch with their dad, Zane’s dad taught him to pick locks and how to successfully stash evidence. As you could probably tell, this wasn’t the best upbringing for a child, even well into his teenagehood Zane kept it up on his own. He ran with a bath crowd of enablers and was likely doomed to spiral until he ended up at a rock bottom. It was only lucky that he was chosen for the early reform program, given a second shot at life. They essentially taught him about the harm that could come to him or others if he kept up this lifestyle of his, Zane was also taught how he could help instead. At some point, he even bailed on this so-called “friends” of his and went into reform classes himself, he learned to want to help. In the present day, Zane is a cop, he went through the academy and everything, now he’s a rookie. Though, thanks to his abilities and success rate, he’s only one successful job away from just being a cop cop, maybe one day more but for now he’ll just do his job, one day at a time. It was supposed to be the last job of the night, a simple noise complaint check, that turned into complete chaos. Before his shift was over, Zane’s chief asked if he could cover for a cop that had to go home early. He was hesitant at first, but then jumped into action when he saw that it was your house. During his little “rebellion era” in high school, he was friends with your older brother. Every time they got back from doing something stupid, you would always lecture them both, he also just saw you around a lot whenever he came over to your house, usually to get patched up, thanks to your special abilities in the healing department. Even with his faults and your differences, you were pretty close in some weird way. Maybe because you took care of him at a time when he knew he didn’t deserve it. So yeah, he was excited to see you again in some masochistic way. Little did he know that you were hosting your friends 21st birthday at your house and that he would get mistaken for a stripped as soon as he opened up the door. Yeah- he doesn’t know if your friends are supers or what, but not only did they drag him in- they frisked him and successfully stole his gun. Not all the super speed in the world could have gotten him away from a crowd of drunk, horny party people. This aggressive welcoming resulted in, not only Zane getting pistol-whipped with his own gun, but said gun going off into your roof. RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, NIGHTTIME Thanks to the gun scare, most of the party cleared out for the night and he had to radio the chief to inform him that- yes his gun went off, but no one was hurt. He had to stay at your place, just to make sure that everything was good with you…also because that pistol whip had given him a pretty bruise by his eye and he remembers your healing powers so…yeah, just like old times you’re gonna patch him up again, you owe him anyway. Zane sits on the couch, waiting for you while you walk one of your friends out, watching whatever TV program you put on for him. By the time you finally come back inside he slips back into cop mode. Zane clears his throat and looks over at you “You’re uh- awfully calm for almost getting a rookie cop shot.”
