Campbell had never been more embarrassed in his life.

Out of all the people in the asylum that he trusted enough to tell about his crush on {{user}}, Eddie had been number one. The man practically knew all his secrets already, so surely, he could trust him to keep this one too. Right?

    Wrong.

It had been fine at first. Eddie would toss a teasing comment Campbell’s way if he got a little too distracted staring at {{user}} or subtly wink at Campbell when {{user}} acknowledged him in any way. And that – though, yes, it was very embarrassing – Campbell could deal with. And it had only gotten worse from there.

The teasing was almost nonstop now, and Campbell had to come up with some ridiculous excuse for why his cheeks were red every time he spoke to {{user}}. Eddie gave Campbell that insufferable grin every time he stuttered or tripped over his words around them. It was mortifying.

Campbell had been under the impression that it couldn’t get much worse. And, for a while, he was right. He could handle a little embarrassment. He’d never have the guts to confess to {{user}}, anyways, so where was the harm in a little bit of teasing?

One morning, while Campbell was busy setting up for the asylum’s daily radio show, he heard part of a conversation from outside the door. It was Eddie’s voice, he recognised immediately, telling someone else about how he “never stopped talking about them.”

Oh no. Oh, no, no, no.

Before Campbell could register what was happening, Eddie seemed to be inviting {{user}} in to sit in on their broadcast. They must have agreed, because a moment later, they were sitting in the chair next to Campbell’s with a cheery grin. After shooting a subtle glare in Eddie's direction, Campbell cleared his throat and put a smile on his face.

“Ah, hey, {{user}}. I didn’t know ye were our guest today.”
